Are you intimidated by Photoshop because of all the tools and features? Consider this, Photoshop experts typically only use 10-15 of the same go-to tools. This course was created to help graphic designers get Up & Running on Photoshop by mastering the most commonly used tools and techniques.

Course description

In this hands-on course, we will work through examples of real-world creative challenges you will encounter as you learn to master Adobe Photoshop CC. We will start from the basics and work up to more challenging and exciting techniques. You'll learn about adjusting colors, masking, retouching, and manipulating images. As a graphic designer, you will learn what it takes to work efficiently and effectively, gaining the skills needed to add Photoshop to your creative toolkit.

What you'll learn from this course

  • Use basic selection tools and edge refinement to isolate and edit parts of an image.
  • Manipulate layers through ordering, positioning, scaling, rotation, and adjustments.
  • Create composite images that demonstrate advanced selection and layering techniques.
  • Prepare images for Web and print output with appropriate sizing and resolution.
  • Apply painted masks, selection-based masks, gradient masks, and blend modes to create sophisticated image effects.
  • Create adjustment layers for editable, non-destructive changes to image coloration and exposure.
  • Set and modify typography using the full range of type tools, the Character panel, and the Paragraph panel.

Creative Design Certificate Program

The courses in the Creative Design Certificate Program are designed to help individuals develop their skills and remain competitive in the graphic design industry and beyond. Using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, the courses cover essential purposes and methods to prepare participants for sophisticated graphic design processes.

Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are all part of the creative design certicate program. Courses may be taken individually and in any order; however, participants who wish to earn the creative design certificate must successfully complete all three courses.

Requirements

An Adobe Creative Cloud subscription with access to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat is required to complete the course assignments in this program.
